Paper & Household

The main toxicity concern in paper products today is PFAS, the "forever chemicals." Testing of toilet paper from around the world has found them at low levels in nearly every sample, usually not added on purpose but left behind by the pulping process or carried in from recycled fibers. Levels are small and paper is a minor exposure route next to food and water, but it is an avoidable one, and recycled or eco labels do not guarantee a product is PFAS-free.
