For mom

The window around pregnancy is when reducing chemical exposure matters most. Before conception, a parent's chemical body burden can affect fertility. During pregnancy, many common chemicals cross the placenta, some reaching the baby at higher levels than the mother while organs and the brain are forming. Afterward, a baby keeps developing fast, so lowering what is in the home still matters. The goal is less exposure, not perfection.
